Former Tahidi High sensation Omosh, a well-known stage name for high actor Kamau Kinuthia, is pleading for employment and financial assistance.
The actor admitted to Standard Entertainment & Lifestyle in an exclusive interview that the Covid-19 outbreak and the show’s discontinuation in 2020 had a negative financial impact on him. “I have been jobless and without a source of money for the entire period. Other jobs that I tried to get did not work out. The path has not been easy, especially in light of the current pandemic, “Omosh added.
The father of three admitted that he used to make roughly Sh18,000 every episode of Tahidi High but that his rent arrears have grown to over Sh100,000 and he is now facing eviction. “I am unable to support my family; my kids are now wondering who I have become,” I do have a family, and I’m sure that my sister and friends have seen or heard about all of this. However, I don’t want to bother anyone because they each have their own problems, he continued.
“I only want a job, even if it only pays Ksh 200 per day. I don’t care about class, and I wouldn’t mind if someone decided to open a hotel where I could sell uji and tea. Nothing is more difficult than waking up every morning with nowhere to go. You watch folks leave for work and return, but you are stuck with nowhere to go. Omosh exclaimed, “It hurts a lot.
He continued by refuting claims that he had relapsed and declaring that he has been alcohol-free since getting treatment at a rehab facility. “I used to drink heavily for a very long time. It was impossible for me to go past it. But once my sister drove me to rehab for three months, I started to change. After the three months, I had undergone a complete transformation and had gained some weight.”
